@sarcasticrover is a Twitter-feed created and written by Jason Filiatrault.

First published as both a celebration and commentary on the Mars Rover “Curiosity”, and its landing on the red planet, the feed gained limited popularity, and thus – this website was born.

The blog will attempt to be both a companion-piece to the Twitter-feed, and an opportunity for further discussion about the MSL project, science in general, social media, and anything else I like because get over it I’m the boss here.

Topics are broken down as follows:

The Real Curiosity: Discussing  the actual rover’s mission and interesting news from Mars.

@SarcasticRover: News about the Twitter-feed, and my boring ramblings on social media.

Press: Articles, mentions, bragging, stuff for my mom to read and be proud of.

Science and Things: Posts about science and space and Mars and the like.

The Writer: Information about the person who writes @sarcasticrover – aka, me.

SarcasticRover: We sent SCIENCE to Mars… not investment banking or religion or politics… we sent SCIENCE. And that matters.

Me: Bankers pay taxes, which funds NASA, which is political. And religion keeps our intentions pure. Face it: You’re a spinoff of all those things — though mostly science. We’re all interconnected. (Hasn’t space taught you ANYTHING?)

  2. Janis says:

I fucking love science! Science is so cool

  3. I am a little bit in love with both SarcasticRover and Jason Filiatrault.
“Do a science”, “Did a science” – those words make me smile every time I read them and every time I think them.
Love the combination of science and humour.

  4. Josh K. says:

(facebook-ed & twitter-ed) 🙂
